INDUSTRIAL Case Study
BRITISH GYPSUM
Appleyard & Trew were appointed by the British Gypsum to provide Quantity Surveyor and Contract Administrator services on their New Plasterboard Mill Building extension projects. The installation works were undertaken sequentially across two sites, both required accurate programming and coordinated material and equipment deliveries from abroad to allow the staged construction of both the mill and the mill buildings to be continuous. The integration of the mill required meticulous planning by the designers and the contractors, a number being directly employed by British Gypsum.
Roof and wall cladding work were programmed to suit final fit out and commissioning of the mill equipment within a stringent health and safety regime. External services and drainage were completed in the enabling works package to ensure the milling systems were available to commission at the earliest stage.
